Now a new patch corrects the mistake and creates a version of the game that is now as it was intended by the original developers.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 is considered by fans of the franchise to be the best in the series, however this mistake was always a black mark on this game’s legacy. This meant Whirlwind Fanfare was not available in the American version with out a cheat device, and because of that, the final boss was unreachable with just the original DVD. But due to the changes for conversion, the money cap was set to 99,999,999. However due to an unknown mistake, the requirements for unlocking an enemy called Whirlwind Fanfare was left at 100 million Credits. The language was converted, and the monetary values were changed from yen to dollars, dividing the price of all rewards and items by 100. Sometime in 2003, a team was translating Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3.
